Enjoy the Holiday Village Stroll, even without the snow

Snow lining the trees and shops along Main Street would be a plus this weekend for the 7th Annual Holiday Village Stroll in Lake Placid, New York, but we’ll just have to do without it this year during the Jingle Bell Run around Mirror Lake and the tree-lighting ceremony at Mid’s Park.

It gets us thinking, what do they do in Lake Placid, Florida, to get into the Christmas spirit? After all, they won’t have snow for their annual Christmas parade on Saturday either.

Just because you can kayak on Mirror Lake instead of skate on the ice, it doesn’t mean you should skip the Village Stroll. There’s plenty of fun to get you and your family in the holiday mood.

And, just because there’s no snow on Main Street, it doesn’t mean there’s no snow in the Adirondack Mountains. There’s still skiing at Whiteface Mountain. In fact, people dressed in Santa costumes ski for free on Sunday, Dec. 13.
