Summer has arrived with beautiful weather, many visitors and exciting upcoming events at the Lake Placid Public Library.
The sixth annual Community Day in Lake Placid was held on June 2 at the North Elba Show Grounds. This year’s event had a “Superhero” theme and featured almost 40 organizations with tables in the pavilion to showcase their work in the community. Attendees enjoyed free food and beverages, games, prizes and live music. The event also celebrated the newest Volunteer of the Year Award winners, JT Wint and Debbie Erenstone. Thanks to everyone who came out to join the celebration.
On May 30 at the library, a group of children and families gathered to meet with special guest Environmental Conservation Officer Matthew La Croix and his K-9 partner, Webb. Children learned about the significant role K-9s play in environmental conservation and safety.
