Hired by the town of around two years ago, Doug wears many hats in our community.

A full-time employee, Doug has become an expert at time management. Three days a week, he can be found assisting our residents at the transfer station. His vast experience in customer service has served him and our community well in providing patrons at the with the same level of service one would expect from any business operation.

Another part of his job is cemetery sexton. In this position, he has assisted in updating and creating maps of our town cemeteries. This function is so important on many levels. From planning to historical preservation, having a reliable reference has proven to be very useful and effective, especially for people researching ancestors and helping people in their time of need.

Doug’s job description also includes working for the Wilmington Parks Department. In the spring and summer, one can find him assisting in general projects and maintenance throughout the community. In the winter months, he can be found shoveling snow or working in the town offices.

Besides retail, Doug’s background consists of community college courses of computer science and accounting. This experience has been put to work at the administrative offices of our town government.

He was born in St. Louis, Missouri and has lived in Wilmington for 13 years. At 52, Doug with his partner Kristy have two children, two grandchildren and a grandchild on the way.

Being well rounded, his interests include computers, hiking and maintaining a mini farm of chickens, sheep, ducks and dogs from his home on Bonnieview Road.

In the time he has worked for the town of Wilmington, his willingness to help people and analyze things has become his trademark. He is a prime example of the “Wilmington Way,” and the residents of our town have benefited from his flexibility and positive attitude of getting the job done.
