Update on my little nephew Luke Randy Garcia, 16-month-old son of Chad and Marla (Perkins) Garcia who was diagnosed with congenital mitral stenosis. Luke had a mitral valve catherization at Boston’s Children’s Hospital. At that time they discovered Luke has a smaller than normal aorta which will be watched to make sure it grows accordingly. Since the surgery his pulmonary hypertension has improved. He had a blood transfusion and will be scheduled for another catherization prior to heart surgery he will need at some point.
Until the decision is made for the next surgery Luke will require weekly follow ups at Fletcher Allen Hospital in Vermont. I am happy to report although tired and still fighting ear infections Luke is home with his family and doing quite well at this time. Marla and Chad thank everyone for the overwhelming show of support they have received from the entire community extending near and far.
Please continue your prayers for Luke Randy as he continues his treatment. Stay tuned for weekly updates.
Please pray for Jackie (Ashley) Kimbel, former resident of town who is very ill at this time. She is waiting for the report for the course of treatment she will receive as she meets with her Doctor on Feb. 25. Jackie was a graduate of class of 1964 at AuSable Forks High School. She welcomes cards from her many friends back home at 110 Dutton Dr., New Castle, DE. 19720-5454.
