AROUND AUSABLE: Donations being accepted for Roy Ano fundraiser

Plans for the fundraiser for Roy Ano to be held at the American Legion Post 504 in AuSable Forks on Feb. 12 from 1 to 6 p.m are proceeding full speed ahead. Roy, an AuSable Forks native, son of Harry and the late Vada Ano, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and is presently hospitalized at Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility where he is currently receiving an extremely aggressive course of chemotherapy and must remain there for some time. After his release from the hospital he must return regularly for six months to receive follow up treatment.

Roy’s family members have organized this fundraiser to assist his wife Laurie and his sons with expenses not covered by insurance and to assist them in the expenses for traveling to spend time with Roy during this very difficult time. A Michigan meal will be served and will include 2 michigans, beans, tossed salad and dessert for an $8 donation. There will be a live auction featuring many wonderful donated items. Eddie McCallister will be the auctioneer. There will also be a 50/50 and live music featuring the Castaways will be playing from 2 to 5 p.m. Take outs will be available by calling 420-7895 or 534-0189 to place your order the day of the event.

Anyone wishing to donate in any way to this fundraiser, may contact Jenny at 420-7985 or Nancy at 534-0189. Donations of homemade cookies and brownies are needed for desserts. Anyone wishing to donate these items, please contact the above numbers.
