AROUND AUSABLE: Fundraiser for Roy Ano slated at Legion Post

Roy Ano, a native of AuSable Forks, son of Harry and the late Vada Ano was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and has been hospitalized at Fletcher Allen Health Care Hospital in Vermont. Roy’s family members have organized a fundraiser to assist his wife Laurie and his sons. They will hold the fundraiser to help defray the expenses they will endure not covered by insurance and assist them with expenses for traveling to spend time with Roy.

The fundraiser will be held at American Legion Post 504 in AuSable Forks on Feb.12  from 1 to 6 p.m. A Michigan meal will be served, raffles will be held and 50/50 will be sold. Tickets will be $8 each. Take outs will be available. You may call 429-7895 or 534-0189 to place your order the day of this event.

You may have noticed the beautiful Adirondack mural in the windows of the former Aubuchon Hardware building painted by Lorrie Mandigo. Lorri, a professional muralist and her friend and assistant, Eileen Roach as well as Mr. Gary Ware Jr. (grandson of Ellie Douglas) donated their time and talent to the AuSable Forks Revitalization effort to beautify this vacant building on Main Street. Lorrie is also a talented artist who specializes in painting Santa Clauses on all sorts of natural materials (the paintedsanta.com).

The Revitalization Group is very appreciative of the time and effort that went into this generous gift to our community from Lorrie and her associates.
