Born on March 3, 1950, in Lake Placid, she was the daughter of Max and Betty Bickford.

She is survived by two sons, Jason and Harold; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister; and two brothers.

Betty Jean loved life, her family and a multitude of pets, particularly her two boxers, Princess and Star. On a nice summer’s day in Lake Placid, she would put the top down on her convertible, with Princess in the passenger’s seat, drive up Main Street and scold tourists and locals alike for not using the crosswalks. She will be greatly missed.

Services are being held at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made in her name to the local animal shelters.
