Born on April 30, 1936, in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Alexina (Caisse) DuPont.

She was a 1954 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. After retirement, she and her husband Henry moved to Stoner Lake, Johnstown and Lake Placid. Alice moved back to the Schenectady area in recent years, and most recently resided in Glenville.

A devout Catholic, she was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church and was always a willing volunteer at St. Paul’s School when her children were in attendance.

Survivors include her daughter, Monica (Robert) Borden; son Gregory (Bethany) Kress; grandchildren Christopher Borden, Kathryn Kress and Kaitlyn Kress; and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husbands, Raymond Shimkus and Henry Kress; her siblings, Alfred, Richard, and Harold DuPont, Marion Muscanell, Clara Lautenbach, Irene Lacy and her beloved twin, Helen Ford.

Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2777 Albany St. Schenectady, NY 12304 or to the charity of one’s choice.
