Joan was born Nov. 20, 1930, in Richmond Hill, Queens, the daughter of Wilbur S. Butler and Helen McKeon Butler. She married Walter E. Hallett June 18, 1950, in St. Catherine of Siena Church in St. Albans, Queens.

There are no calling hours. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25 at the North Elba Cemetery, Old Military Road, Lake Placid, with the Rev. Richard Dukett officiating. The M.B. Clark Inc. Funeral Home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements.
