The special meetings in July coincide with the final months of the town’s moratorium on issuing new short-term vacation rental permits in the town, which is expected to end at the beginning of September. The town council, along with the village board of trustees, passed a local law in March enacting a six-month moratorium on the permits so the two boards could gather public feedback about the rentals and consider changes to STR regulations in the town and village.

The North Elba Town Council has scheduled special meetings to discuss STRs on July 7, 12, 19 and 26 at 9 a.m.
