In February 2015, Lake Placid News Editor Andy Flynn and Lake Placid Olympic Museum Director Alison Haas interviewed Olympic Center General Manager Denny Allen about his work at the Olympic Speedskating Oval during the 1980 Olympic Winter Games. Four years later, on Feb. 1, 2019, Allen died at the age of 64, nine months after retiring from his job at the state Olympic Regional Development Authority.
