Area schools closed today

Schools in the Tri-Lakes region are closed today, Friday, Nov. 16, due to the snowstorm, which is expected to dump about a foot of snow on a large portion of the Adirondacks.

Schools that report being closed are AuSable Valley Central, Lake Placid Central, Keene Central, Saranac Lake Central, Tupper Lake Central, Long Lake Central, St. Agnes School in Lake Placid and St. Bernard’s School in Saranac Lake.

In addition, all campuses for North Country Community College will be closed.

A winter storm warning remains in effect until 3 p.m. with total snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches. Highs will be in the lower 30s today.
