| Latest Post: Started By: Rank: Category New Opportunity For Area Disc GolfersThe Ausable Chasm Campgrounds has officially opened a new 9 hole disc golf course on their grounds. The newly installed course will be open throughout the campgrounds season, reportedly, May through October, making it the only 3-season course in the Adirondack Park. Day use fees are quoted at $5 per day, and locals have an opportunity to purchase seasonal access passes for $25. The day use and seasonal passes are good for disc golf, and also allow access to the bike/hiking trails and swimming pool on the campground. (They do NOT include admission to the chasm) According to the campground, if interest warrants, the course could be expanded to 18 holes in the future. We have not played the course yet, and will update with details as soon as we can. Get out there and toss some plastic... Even though this course is outside of the park, it is the nearest full disc golf course to our area. Cadyville DGC is a well maintained, nearly manicured disc golf course. It is comprised of mainly short less than 300' holes. The course layout is family friendly and flat. The course is perfect for beginner/intermediate level and poses some challenge for the experienced/expert level players as well. As for disc golf in the north country, it is currently our shining star. The Plattsburgh Rec Dept has definitely done a good job with this course. Get out and check it out the next time you head to Plattsburgh. (Take RT3 from Saranac Lake to Cadyville. Take a Right on Goddeau Rd at the Cadyville Mobil station and then proceed about 1/4 mile to course on Left.)
