HAMBURG, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus is due in court on charges filed after a crash that police say happened during a car race.

Dareus is expected in town court in the Buffalo suburb of Hamburg on Tuesday.

He's charged with misdemeanor reckless endangerment after crashing his 2012 Jaguar into a tree on May 30 while allegedly racing a teammate. The 24-year-old also was ticketed for several traffic violations, including taking part in an illegal race.

The accident occurred about a month after Dareus was arrested in his native Alabama and charged with possession of synthetic marijuana and drug paraphernalia. His attorney has said there are plea discussions in that case.

Dareus has yet to publicly address the latest charges.
