GIRLS HOCKEY

Saranac Lake Placid 5, Potsdam 4 (OT)

LAKE PLACID - Maddie Gay scored the game-winning goal in overtime to propel the Saranac Lake Placid girls hockey team to a 5-4 victory Tuesday night.

Trailing 4-3 late in the third period, SLP pulled its goalie to put the pressure on Potsdam. The tactic worked as Lydia Bullock was able to find an opening for the game-tying goal with 49 seconds left on the clock.

It was Bullock's second goal of the game and sent the contest into overtime. Rylee Preston and Lea Hill also found the back of the net for SLP.

Olivia Ferebee turned away 27 shots from her post in goal for SLP, which improved its season record to 2-2.
