TUPPER LAKE - State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie will tour the Wild Center nature museum in Tupper Lake Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.

Assemblyman Billy Jones, D-Chateaugay, will accompany the speaker, a Democrat from the Bronx.

Since becoming speaker in 2015, Heastie has begun a tradition of traveling to various places around the state while the Legislature is out of session. This year his only other visit to the North Country was to the region's western half: to see places along Lake Ontario damaged by flooding last year, to tour the Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site and to attend the Jefferson County Fair in Watertown.
