LAKE PLACID - Three vehicles collided at the intersection of state Route 73 and Adirondack Loj Road late this morning.

A state trooper on the scene said a truck rear-ended an SUV, knocking it into the opposite lane. An oncoming van then collided with the front of the SUV.

When the Enterprise arrived on the scene, a towing service was pulling the SUV out of the ditch at the corner of the two roads. The front driver's side of the SUV was damaged, and the Adirondack Loj Road sign was bent.

The trooper said no one was severely injured but that some people involved suffered bumps and bruises that warranted hospital visits.

One person in the collision was still present when the Enterprise was on the scene. He seemed rather stunned from the whole ordeal and chose not to give his name, but he did say he was a Lake Placid resident. His face was slightly bruised and scratched, and two friends left with him to take him to the hospital.

The incident caused some traffic delays for a short time, sending eastbound cars on a detour down River Road, which was suffering from minor floods at the time.
