Paving will begin on Route 73 in Keene this week

September 19, 2017
Lake Placid News

Motorists are advised to watch for single alternating lanes controlled by flaggers on three separate stretches of state Route 73 in the town of Keene later this week as paving work gets underway by the state Department of Transportation.

The alternating-lane segments - each roughly one mile in length between Marcy Field and Lower Cascade Lake - are expected to be in place by Thursday and continue through approximately the end of September during weekday daylight hours, weather dependent.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual's driver's license.
