LAKE PLACID - The people of this village endured the wet weather Monday as the Memorial Day parade and American Legion Post 326's annual ceremonial changing of the flags went on as planned.

Though the flag ceremony and wreath laying was abbreviated this year at the post at the corner of School and Main streets, more than 60 people donned rain jackets and held umbrellas to pay their respects.

At the American Legion, the post lowered flags flying since Veterans Day in honor of Andrew Morford, Victor Roy Sr. and Joseph Vernon Lamb. Flags were raised in honor of Ed Kane, Bill Delahant and Louis Conway.
