By staff , Lake Placid News

LAKE PLACID - Twelve riders convened on a cold and windy night Wednesday for the opening of the Placid Planet Time Trial Series.

The six-race series continues every Wednesday through June 7 and is free of charge. Races begin at 6:30 p.m. at the ski jump end of Riverside Drive in Lake Placid. Participants ride to the end of Riverside Drive and back for a total of 8 miles.

The Time Trial is an individual race against the clock. Series points are awarded based on individual participation and personal improvement as well as the fastest man and woman each night. Prizes and a $100 Placid Planet gift card will be awarded after the final race to the man and woman who accumulate the most points through the series. Everyone is welcome.
