There was plenty going on in April in Lake Placid

Lake Placid News

To the editor:

April. A "not much to do" month in Lake Placid.

Except that's not true anymore and hasn't been for a while, I've noticed.

On April 28, our village/town had at least three wonderful concurrent offerings.

The recognition of Cora Clark and Samantha Barney at the LPCA as outstanding volunteers was a terrific celebration of very deserving citizens. They, and others, make this area what it is.

At St. Eustace Episcopal Church, over $1,100 was raised through attendance and generous donations at a community supper to support Syrian refugees who have tragically had to flee their homeland.

The Bookstore Plus had to set up an extra table to accommodate people who came to a free evening of coloring, all supplies provided, to express their creative side, relax and enjoy each other's company.

There may also have been other offerings at the same time in our quiet little town that I am not aware of.

Thank you all who make Lake Placid so special.
