Trump editorial missed the mark

December 24, 2015
Lake Placid News

To the editor:

The Dec. 18 editorial attack on Donald Trump was wrong on three separates counts: (1) He only called for a TEMPORARY ban on Muslim immigrants, only until the inept government fixes the lawless entry of Muslim immigrants, such as the woman in San Bernardino, who killed numerous Americans after immigrating unlawfully by simply making up a non-existent home address in Pakistan ... sounds reasonable; (2) contrary to your editorial, he said nothing about a ban on U.S. residents who are Muslims ... he spoke only of non-citizen immigrants; claiming he spoke ill of peaceful Muslims living in America is not correct, and fans the flames of fear; (3) As non-citizens, immigrants DO NOT HAVE rights under the Constitution, like American citizens do, so there is nothing at all unconstitutional about suggesting a temporary ban on any kind of non-citizen immigrants.
