Olympic sculptures were listed in brochure for 25th anniversary

December 17, 2015
Lake Placid News

(This is a response to the Nov. 13 Lake Placid News story, "The Arts: Olympic Sculpture relocated to the LPCA.")

To the editor:

Twenty-five years after the Olympics, it became my project with the help of the Lake Placid Center for the Arts to research the background of all the Olympic sculptures and their artists. What was the meaning of form and display? I took photographs for the Olympic Art Trail and the map presented. Local organizations and businesses had raised the funds for iron plaques placed by all the sculptures for information, including Lyman Kipp's sculpture. What took so long to rescue this sculpture?
