‘Two Guys’ thank everyone for the fundraising support

August 20, 2015
Lake Placid News

To the editor:

On Monday, July 21, the fundraiser "Two Guys, One Goal: Beat Cancer" took place at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. With the generous support of LPCA Director James Lemons and his staffers Nick and Doug, this event went from a notion to a successful program in a matter of a few weeks. Presenters Duncan Segger and Mac Rand shared their personal stories of how they have each fought cancer in their own way. By the end of the evening, almost $4,000 was raised for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, far exceeding what we had dreamed of!

The Segger and Rand family would like to thank the following businesses and organizations for donating items to the fundraiser. Without their generous support the event would not have come close to being the success that it was: NYSEF, Lake Placid Pub and Brewery, Lake Placid News, Adirondack Daily Enterprise, U.S. Olympic Committee, Whiteface Club & Resort, Lake Placid Rental, High Peaks Cyclery, The Lake House at the High Peaks Resort, USA Luge, Dimma's Gourmet Foods, Smoking Cork, Stouts & Stogies, Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort, Pure Placid, Lake Placid Gift Co., Ruthie's Run, Sharon Wood Sommers, The Spa at the Mirror Lake Inn, Hotel North Woods, Adirondack Health, Adirondack Massage, Adirondack Flying Service, A Point of View Gallery, Adirondack Popcorn, Smoke Signals, Duncan's Grille at The Pines Inn, Jimmy's Lakeside Dining, Black Bear Restaurant, Crowne Plaza / Boathouse, Placid Planet, Bear Essentials, Hockey Depot, Taste Bistro, WSLP 93.3, Pirates Cove, Lake Placid Center for the Arts, Terry Robards Wine & Spirits.

We would also like to pass along a big "Thanks" to the following folks who spent their afternoon and evening setting up and running the event: Tracey Ridenour, Laura Eldred, Robin Brown Anthony and Lori Fitzgerald.

Of course, without people attending the event we would not have had anything to show for it, so thank you to everyone who came out, watched the show, made donations and bought all those wonderful items! Once again the Lake Placid community has demonstrated how much it cares for others, and we truly appreciate you time and generosity.

Sincerely,

Mac Rand on behalf of the Segger and Rand families
