Plunge for the Cause success

June 18, 2015
Lake Placid News

To the editor:

The 2015 Plunge for the Cause was a huge success in part to many individuals and organizations. On May 9, dozens of adults and students plunged into Mirror Lake to support three great causes. This year $1,800 was raised. The Lake Placid Ecumenical Food Pantry, the Wilmington Ecumenical Food Pantry and the Tri-Lake Animal Shelter each received $600.

The Lake Placid Middle School Builder's Club could not have pulled off this event without the support of the following people: Jeff Prime of the Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service; members of the Lake Placid Fire Department especially Assistant Chief Matt Marshall and Brady Hayes; Middle School Principal Theresa Lindsay; High School Principal Dana Wood; Lake Placid School Board members Rick Preston and Jeff Brownell; Lake Placid High School seniors Joellen Quilla and Rachel Chris; students from Lake Placid Central School, Northwood Academy and the National Sports Academy; the Kiwanis club; Stewarts; Starbucks; Price Chopper and Hannaford. A special thank you to Eric Harter and his family from Canandaigua, New York for their continued support. Thank you all who attended and donated to this great event.

Thank you.
