Congresswoman appreciates local concerns

April 30, 2015
Lake Placid News

To the editor:

I had the pleasure of meeting with Congresswoman Elise Stefanik with my some of my Essex County colleagues in late February in her Washington, D.C., office. I was immediately impressed by her willingness to both listen and be helpful on a range of requests that, while local in nature, have a great effect on our community and region.

For example, she offered to reach out to the bipartisan congressional delegation in New York to pool their support in bringing back the Olympic games to our region. As an Essex County resident, she also understands and has shown great interest in improving our local infrastructure which is in need of crucial upgrades.

Congresswoman Stefanik's willingness to work across the aisle with her Republican and Democratic colleagues to assist our region locally goes to show her commitment to her role in Congress and our region which we all care so deeply for. I appreciate her partnership in furthering the goals of our region.
