Lake Placid News

WESTPORT - Depot Theatre's Shakespeare-in-the-Park is celebrating its 12th season appropriately with an abridged version of William Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" in Westport, Elizabethtown and Jay.

This comedy involves mistaken identity, unrequited love, a humorous rivalry between generations, capped off with a comic ending consisting of many marriages.

The first performance of "Twelfth Night" will be onstage at the Depot Theatre in Westport at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7.

The second will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8 at Ballard Park in Westport.

The third will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9 at the Adirondack History Center Museum in Elizabethtown.

The fourth will be at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10 at the Amos and Julia Ward Theater at the Village Green in Jay.

All performances are free and open to the public.

The Depot's Shakespeare-in-the-Park program is made possible, in part, by the Essex County Arts Council CAP Grant supported by the Essex County Board of Supervisors.
