Lake Placid High School sets events for students

LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid Middle School Celebration, an evening event following three years of hard work for the Class of 2018 of the Lake Placid High School, will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 in the auditorium.

Students will be recognized for their achievement and accomplishments. The ceremony will be followed by a reception in the foyer sponsored by the families of the Class of 2018.

The Lake Placid High School Class of 2014 will be honored at the Senior Project, Art & Technology, and Scholarship Awards night at 7 p.m. Monday, June 23 in the auditorium and on the main floor of the high school. Senior projects will be on display.

This event kicks off a week of celebration for LPHS graduates. A baccalaureate will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 25 at the Adirondack Community Church with a reception to follow.

Jeanette Duggan will speak and students will present music and readings.

Commencement exercises will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 27 on the Olympic Speed Skating Oval, if the weather permits. A reception sponsored by the Class of 2016 will follow. Speaking at graduation will be RoseAnn Hickey, of the Lake Placid Elementary School, Valedictorian Erin Weaver, and Salutatorian David Knapik.

Members of the graduating class are invited to attend the Alumni Banquet at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 28 at the Lake Placid Crowne Plaza at no charge. The Alumni Banquet celebrates the reunions for graduating years ending in "4" and "9." Reservations are required.
