LAKE PLACID - For the ninth summer in a row, Tuesday nights will feature free concerts in Mid's Park, thanks to the Songs at Mirror Lake Music Series.
This year's best-known band is JJ Grey & Mofro, based in Florida, which will kick off this year's series with "Southern Soul Night" (each week's show has a theme) on July 1.
Lostdog is the local band in this year's series, taking the stage of the new bandshell for "Adirondack Fusion Rock Night" on July 15.

A huge crowd, seen through a fisheye lens, gathers last summer in Mid’s Park, downtown Lake Placid, for a free concert by Rusted Root, part of the Songs at Mirror Lake Music Series.
The series lasts for seven Tuesdays, from July 1 to Aug. 12, always at 7 p.m., rain or shine.
Since admission is always free, Songs at Mirror Lake needs sponsorships and donations to pay bands and other expenses. Organizers were pleased to announce that The Pines Inn will be the 2014 season's Whole Note (Title) Sponsor, the sixth year the hotel has supported the series. Also, Adirondack "By Owner" returns as the Half Note (Presenting) Sponsor for the fourth consecutive year.
