LAKE PLACID - The Adirondack Trail Race Series kicked off Sunday with the Victoria Day races at Mount Van Hoevenberg.
The five-race series continues this Saturday with the Jenkins Mountain Scramble at the Paul Smith's College VIC, followed by the Independence Day Star Spangled Trail Marathon on Sunday, July 6, the ADK 80K on Aug. 30 and 31 and the Fall Foliage Ramble on Oct. 11. Points will be awarded for each race and totaled for overall titles.
Sunday's races at Mount Van Hoevenberg included a 10-kilometer run, a 20k run, a 10k bike race and a 20k bike race.

Kevin Prickett of Wilmington finished first in the 20k run with a time of 1 hour, 48 minutes, 15 seconds. Loring Porter and Colleen Porter finished in 2:04:11.
The 10k race had eight competitors. Colin Delaney of Lake Placid was the top finisher with a time of 42:20. Drew Lavin of Lake Placid was second in 43:10, followed by Jason Amoriell of Peru in 49:40, Heidi Holderied of Saranac Lake in 53:10, Markus Mohrs of Saranac Lake in 59:24, Katja Mohrs of Saranac Lake in 1:07:40, Kathleen Lanzer of Plattsburgh in 1:10:33 and Charles McGuire of Keene in 1:18:33.
Chris Byrne of Boonton, New Jersey was the lone finisher in the 10k bike race with a time of 1:10:00 and Carey Patrick completed the 20k bike course in 1:19:10.
The event was hosted by High Peaks Cyclery and sponsored by Great Adirondack Brewery, Teko socks and Fuel Belt.
