Plunge for a Cause thanks

May 15, 2014
Lake Placid News

To the editor:

A huge thank you goes out to the Wilmington, Lake Placid and the Saranac Lake communities for supporting our seventh annual Plunge for a Cause.

The Kiwanis-sponsored Lake Placid Middle School Builder's Club did what they need to do to raise funds to support the Tri-Lakes Animal Shelter, Wilmington and Lake Placid Ecumenical Food Pantries.

We were led by into Mirror Lake by Theresa Lindsay and Dana Wood, our Lake Placid Middle and High School administrators. We were joined by our neighbors, our amazing Northwood School, led by Marcy Fagan and Erin Farmer, Key Club from Lake Placid and Keene Central, National Honor Society LPHS, and the list goes on and on.

We especially thank the Lake Placid Fire Department, Lake Placid Water Safety Crew, Brady Hayes and Matt Marshall, Lake Placid Police Department, Lake Placid Village Board.

A very special thank you goes to our former Lake Placid Central School staff that came from far away. Eric Harter and his family continue to support all our efforts for our community from Canandaigua. We were warmed up by Starbucks coffee.

This is such a great success because of the collaboration with the Lake Placid Village Clean-Up, Tricia Garrett and Andrea Grout coordinators.

Thank you,

Patti McConvey
