United Way thanks

April 17, 2014
Lake Placid News

To the editor:

We would like to take this opportunity to send a huge "thank you" to everyone in the North Country who supported the United Way of the Adirondack Region 2014 Fundraising Campaign. Through your generosity we were able to meet our goal of $725,000, which will assist our 40 partner agencies in providing much-needed services to friends, family and neighbors throughout communities in Clinton, Essex and Franklin counties.

The Campaign Team greatly appreciates those businesses that not only donated directly but also those that opened their doors to allow us to come in and provide their employees with the opportunity to give back to the community through payroll deduction. We had more than 2,600 local employees make campaign gifts, along with 173 corporate contributions and 146 individual pledges. The North Country truly cares for its neighbors and values the services and programs our United Way agencies provide. There is also great satisfaction in knowing that 100 percent of the campaign funds raised locally stays local!

We invite you to check our website to get a listing of businesses that contribute to the United Way in Clinton, Essex and Franklin counties, and support those businesses that are making such a difference in this wonderful place we call home.

Give. Advocate. Volunteer. Live united. Together we do make a difference!

With heartfelt thanks,

DaleAnne Wolter
