LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid Central School Board of Education will no longer rely on large stacks of paper documents for conducting school district business.
Beginning with its Jan. 21 meeting, the Board of Education used an online document system that provides Internet access to its agenda and other documents. The system is expected to dramatically decrease the use of paper while increasing transparency for the public. By leveraging the power of the Internet, the Board of Education hopes to improve the governance process while saving time, taxpayer dollars and the environment.
The paperless meeting solution, called BoardDocs LT, is a web-based service. By accessing the www.boarddocs.com website, any community member will gain access to meeting agendas and supporting documents. The new eGovernance features can be accessed via the following link, www.boarddocs.com/ny/lpcsd/Board.nsf/vpublic?open, and soon on the school's website at www.lpcsd.org.
