LAKE PLACID - AWH Partners, LLC, a New York-based owner and operator of resorts and hotels around the country, Monday announced it has acquired the High Peaks Resort.
AWH Partners was founded by Russ Flicker, Jon Rosenfeld and Chad Cooley with the aim of acquiring unique assets such as High Peaks Resort, where they seek to operate in close partnership with communities to create exceptional experiences for their guests, it said in a press release. At High Peaks, AWH Partners has partnered with Reed Miller, a Northwood School graduate and New York Ski Education Foundation board member. Through their partnership with Miller, AWH and High Peaks Resort seek to build on the resort's connection with the Lake Placid community, according to the release.
"We are ecstatic about acquiring this wonderful asset and partnering with Mr. Miller. We have fallen in love with High Peaks and believe we will be successful by establishing deeper roots within Lake Placid," AWH co-founder Chad Cooley said in the release. "We have set aside substantial funds to make aesthetic improvements to the resort and look forward to working with the community on our plans."
In March 2012, the New York-based AWH Partners acquired the resort's current management company, Lane Hospitality, which it rebranded Spire Hospitality in May of this year. AWH has made significant investments in Spire, which it believes will translate to a better experience for guests at High Peaks Resort, the release said.
