LAKE PLACID - The Indian Lake/Long Lake girls and boys basketball teams visited Lake Placid on Friday, Nov. 30 for a season-opening nonleague doubleheader.
The Blue Bombers boys had to settle for a 60-25 defeat, while the girls los 32-10.
In the boys' game, Indian Lake/Long Lake jumped out to a 33-12 lead at halftime and Lake Placid was unable to close the gap in the second half. The Bombers did cut the deficit to nine points, but the Orange put the game away with a 10-0 run in the fourth.

Tarik Cecujanin led the Blue Bombers in scoring with nine points. Casey DiNicola chipped in with six points and Garrett Woodruff hit for five.
Indian Lake/Long Lake's Colin Farrell led all scorers with 22 points. The Orange connected for nine 3-pointers in the game.
In the girls' game, Lake Placid was held scoreless in the first half.
Meg Smith was the game's leading scorer with 10 points for the Orange.
Adele Jesmer scored eight points for the Blue Bombers.
Lake Placid 4, Canton 0
LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid girls hockey team scored three goals in the second period on the way to a 4-0 victory over Canton on Tuesday, Dec. 4.
It was the second win in as many games for the Blue Bombers, who opened the season on the road Nov. 30 against Albany Academy.
Sam Barney had a goal and two assists during the second-period surge. Kendra Manning and Lizzie Bimonte each scored a goal and an assist during the game, while Kiana Fell accounted for one goal and Emily Godin and Brooke Reid each picked up an assist.
Hannah Stanton recorded a shutout in goal for the Blue Bombers after making 15 saves. Elizabeth Clark made 25 saves in the losing effort.
