Lake Placid residents can still aid storm victims with supplies

November 10, 2012
RICHARD ROSENTRETER , Lake Placid News

LAKE PLACID - A Relief Effort is being sponsored by Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service and Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department to collect essential items for victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The local agencies are partnering with the West Babylon Fire Department on Long Island, a town to town program where there is a great need.

People are asked to donate personal, dental, health, baby and animal essential needs. Batteries, flashlights, gloves, garbage bags along with coloring books and crayons are suggested.

Collection sites around town are the ambulance station on Mill Pond Drive, the fire station, Price Chopper and the UPS Store, according to a press release from the LPVAS.

Donations must be made by Friday, Nov. 16 as a delivery UPS truck is planned to depart Saturday Nov. 17.
