SARANAC LAKE - The Lake Placid Phillies had the hot bats, which they turned into a dozen runs in a 12-1 victory over Agency Insurance in the Saranac Lake Youth Baseball Association's Minor League championship game on July 18.

The contest was played in Saranac Lake on the Civic Center diamond, and Lake Placid led from start to finish.

The Phillies grabbed a 3-0 lead in their first at-bat and Agency answered with a run in its first trip to the plate to make it a 3-1 contest. Lake Placid then took control by tacking on four runs in the top of the second inning for a 7-1 lead, then scored five more times down the stretch to clinch the title.
