LAKE PLACID - David Lewis Fay, 64, of Lake Placid, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Mr. Fay was born Nov. 26, 1947, in Lake Placid. He was the son of the late Seaver and the late Frances (Lawrence) Fay.
He was a graduate of Lake Placid High School, Class of 1967, and earned his degree in radiation technology at North Country Community College. He was employed by White Barn Designs, Lake Placid, as a carpenter. He enjoyed woodworking and making wooden crafts of all kinds. Mr. Fay was instrumental in the design and layout of the new addition to the Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service garage. He was a member of the Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service for over 10 years.
He is survived by his wife, Paulette (Hunting) Fay of Lake Placid; one son, Jonathan Fay and his wife Kimberly of Lake Placid; one daughter, Rebecca Ramsay and her husband Jonathan of Napanee, Ontario; and one sister, Beverly Fay of Blind River, Ontario. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Blake and Jenna Fay, and Clarinda, Josef and Jeremiah Ramsay.
Calling hours were held Monday, July 16 at the M. B. Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid. A funeral service followed with the Rev. William Saxton, pastor of the Pilgrim Holiness Church, officiating. Cremation followed.
Burial will be in North Elba Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in memory of Mr. Fay be made to the Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 107, Lake Placid, NY 12946 or the Pilgrim Holiness Church, 6057 Sentinel Road, Lake Placid, NY 12946.
