LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid girls basketball team started strong last Friday, but tailed off in the second quarter on the way to a 34-29 loss to Ticonderoga.
The Blue Bombers also lost to Seton Catholic last week, setting their overall record at 0-4.
Dani Balestrini played well in both games, racking up 15 points, six rebounds and four steals against Ticonderoga and 18 points in the loss to Seton Catholic.

Ayla Thompson did her part for Lake Placid with six points and 15 rebounds against Ticonderoga and eight points against Seton Catholic.
Against Ticonderoga, the Blue Bombers jumped out to an 8-4 lead, before the Sentinels turned the tide with a 12-5 second quarter.
Andrea Rich led the way for Ticonderoga with 15 points. It was the first win of the season for the Sentinels, who are 1-2 overall and 1-1 in league games.
Kelli Ryan was the star of the game for Seton Catholic against the Blue Bombers. She scored a game-high 19 points, while teammate Lyndale Nephew hit for 10.
The Bombers are off until Jan. 2 when they take on Tri-Lakes rival Saranac Lake at home.
