A first-time Lake Placid event

October 7, 2011
Lake Placid News
This weekend is lined up to be another spectacular Lake Placid weekend with not only the annual Flaming Leaves Festival at the ski jumps, but there’s a new event on tap as well.

Time will tell if the event will become a mainstay, but it the opening weekend appears to be worth checking out. Dubbed as “An international festival of peace, love, art and music,” the three-day event will run from Oct. 7-9 (see story on front page). Hopefully this new event is well-attended and garners plenty of community support! Certainly there are many folks in the area who appreciate music, arts and films.

Congratulations to the organizers for taking a chance and bringing something new to the Olympic Village.

This event coupled with the music, food and sport of the ski jumping at the Flaming Leaves, makes this weekend standout. So, whether you’re a visitor or local, get out and enjoy the festivities of both events. And enjoy the nice weather that is forecast — it won’t be long before the snow flies!
