To the editor; dear residents:
I just completed my first Ironman in Lake Placid this past week, and cannot imagine a better hosting venue. The temperature, the scenery, the people, the lake, the backdrop; nothing in New York City or Canada could possibly compare.
Although I am a resident of NYC, I would overwhelmingly urge my teammates to compete in Lake Placid over Ironman NYC for the numerous reasons I just mentioned. It would be an absolute shame for this race to disappear, but I have a feeling that previous finishers and future competitors won’t let that happen because it would be too great a loss.
