Born in Meriden, Conn., he was the son of Nellie LeBel (Warbel) and Leo LeBel. He was raised in Lake Placid, where he excelled at speed skating and barrel jumping. He is a world record holder and is in the Guinness Book of World Records.
He is survived by his children: Lisa Carroll (Billy), Lori LeBel-Vink and Ken LeBel Jr. (Joanne); his former wife Diane, who he had a very special relationship with; his sister Aldrina Regan (Peabody, Mass.); and Leo LeBel Jr. (CT); and his grandchildren: Sammie, Billy, Sadie, Devin, Monica, Lauren, Madyson and Kendra.
Papa had a love of sports. He loved attending his grandchildrens’ sporting events, especially hockey, softball and baseball. He also loved his garden.
