AuSABLE FORKS — Victor Paul Roy Sr., 79, of AuSable Forks and formerly of Lake Placid, passed away Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011.
He was born in Lake Placid, October 22, 1931, the son of Paul N. and Delia (Lord) Roy.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. He was a resident of Lake Placid most of his life until his retirement in 1992, when he moved to Black Brook.
He was employed as a plumber and a member of the United Association of Plumbers/Pipefitters Union Local 773. Mr. Roy was a member of the American Legion Post 326 and past member of the Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department.
Victor is survived by five sons: Victor Jr. and his wife Nancy Roy of Lake Placid, Thomas and Sandra Roy of Victorville, Calif., William Roy of Rangeley, Maine, Peter and Tracy Roy of Lake Placid and David and Susanne Roy of Apple Valley, Calif; two daughters: Suzan and Russell Scriver of Lake Placid and Michele (Roy) Sullivan of New Port Richey, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Mrs. Reginal (Mildred) Smith of Keene, two sons, Robert (Ruby) and Lucy Martin of Austin, Texas and Billy and Sue Martin of Saratoga Springs.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Marion (Mullarney) Roy; three sons: Francis, Paul and Michael; his second wife, Martha (Martin) Roy; two stepsons: Gary and Steve Martin; and one stepdaughter, Linda Perkins.
A graveside service will be held in the spring in Fairview Cemetery in AuSable Forks.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Tri-Lakes Humane Pet Society. The Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
