Bravo to LP students who want to be heard

February 7, 2011
Lake Placid News
To the editor:

In reference to the article about the Lake Placid school board meeting from 1/20/11, (“Students speak out against cuts”) where students attended and gave comments about the possible changes to the curriculum. As a community, we should be thrilled that the students want a voice in this. What a great testament to the quality of education that Lake Placid Central School gives their children.

My child is in the middle school and what a wonderful group of teachers the sixth grade has. I am equally sure that all the teachers in the middle/high school do a tremendous job.

One of the big reasons for moving back here was the quality of the public school education in Lake Placid.

Please school board, go carefully in making cutbacks.
