To the editor:
With all of the busy-ness of this Christmas season, it’s easy to be a little short-tempered. It also seems as though we (unintentionally?) express our frustrations in our business dealings — the server who isn’t quite fast enough with our food, the phone sales rep who can’t answer our question, the store associate who doesn’t have our item in stock, and on and on.
In spite of this, most business people and most customers are pleasant and cooperative. It’s a nice trend this Christmas.
I’d like to take a moment to commend Wilmington’s postmaster for her attitude and hard work at what is likely her busiest time of year. Merri Carol Peck meets each customer with a smile and a “we can do that” attitude. Even with the USPS having reduced her staffing, Merri Carol runs the Wilmington Post Office efficiently. As in many small towns, the Wilmington Post Office is still a key place to meet and greet neighbors.
Well done, Merri Carol! We’re proud to have you in our town. Thank you for your hard work.
