CHATEAUGAY — Kathryn Danussi, 86, of state Route 374 in Merrill, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family and aided by Hospice of the North Country.
Born in Chateaugay on Feb. 19, 1924, she was the daughter of David and Teresa (Darrah) Healey.
She was married to Anthony “Punch” Danussi on March 6, 1943 in St. Patrick’s Church, Chateaugay by Rev. James McClure. He predeceased her on May 17, 2008.
Mrs. Danussi attended Chateaugay High School. She was employed at the Half-Way House as a waitress for more than 20 years. She was a communicant of St. Bernard’s Church, Lyon Mountain.
Mrs. Danussi is survived by four children and their spouses: Patricia and Gerald Rubado of Massena, Sandra and Paul Dooling of Lake Placid, Gregory and Kalma Danussi of Chateaugay Lake and Nancy and John Kaska of Chateaugay Lake; grandchildren: Scott Bolia, Jesse Kaska and his wife, Tammy, Michael Bolia, Antonio and Kalee Danussi; great-grandchildren: Michael, Anthony and Makayla Bolia, Jake Kaska, Brody and Riley Vaincourt; a brother and sisters-in-law: Ambrose and Fern Healey of Hyattsville, Md. and Blanche Healey of Chateaugay; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Joseph and Helen Danussi of Malone; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents; a son Anthony Ambrose Danussi on Nov. 23, 1944; two sisters: Gladys Healey and Geraldine Leary; and two brothers: William “Will” Healey and Kenneth Healey.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17 at the Chateaugay Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18 in St. Bernard’s Church in Lyon Mountain with the Rev. Ted Crosby officiating. Burial will take place at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Lyon Mountain.
