Santa’s coming; and so is the Village Stroll

December 9, 2010
Lake Placid News
Spread the word — the Lake Placid Holiday Village Stroll is coming! Now in its third year, the Village Stroll, which is geared to bring the holiday spirit to residents and visitors primarily along Main Street, has grown. The event is certainly on its way to becoming a holiday season “must do” in the Olympic Village.

The Village Stroll will run from Friday, Dec. 10 to Sunday, Dec. 12, and promises to be another successful community event. Once again many businesses and restaurants will offer great deals that will be aimed not only at visitors, but local residents as well.

There will be free skating at the Olympic Center on Friday — Santa will make an appearance or two — the Christmas tree will be lit at Mid’s Park with a special performance by the chorus from Lake Placid schools — and of course, there will plenty of great specials at many of the eateries along Main Street.

The Village Stroll has certainly improved over its first year — thanks to the outstanding efforts of the Lake Placid business community. There were many kinks to be worked out after that initial effort, but for the most part, things seem to be running smoothly.

For those businesses and food and beverage establishments that are already part of the festivities, good luck on having a successful holiday affair.

For those who have not signed on, there’s still time. Or least check out the events and plan on participating next year. It’ll be good for business and good for Lake Placid.

To the residents of the area who have attended previous Holiday Strolls, please make it a point to take advantage of what our special village has to offer during a special event.

To those who have yet to make a Holiday Stroll, please do so this year. It just might become your new holiday tradition.
