The Lake Placid Kiwanis Club’s Harvest Celebration held on Sunday Nov. 7, attended by more than 80 people, was an overwhelming success because of the following.
The Uihlein Foundation provided Heaven Hill Farms and the cooperation so necessary to host a first class celebration. Chefs Carl Bowen, Joe Kempa and the culinary arts students of Mountain Lake Academy provided the gourmet food.
The evening of entertainment was courtesy of Jim Cushman and the SYC Band, Kim Weems and the Lake Placid High School Women’s Ensemble and the Saxophone Guys. The Lake Plaid Horseshow, the Pines and Duncan’s Grill, ORDA, the Whiteface Club, the Lake Placid Club, the Northwoods Inn, the Cellar Bistro, the Mirror Lake Inn, the Golden Arrow, Milano North, the Lake Placid Pub & Brewery, the Uihlein Cornell Cooperative Extension, the National Sports Academy, Ruthie’s Run, the Brush On In, Arbonne, Karen Kahn, M.D., Kiwanis members Regina Gallucci, Len Folin and Glenda Mitchell, and Harmony Hills Farm in Malone (which contributed a fresh organic Thanksgiving turkey) all so generously supported this remembrance of 84 years of service to local youth. And we greatly appreciate our media support from the Lake Placid News, and to all who attended.
Our sincere thanks. Joan Kelly and
JoAnn Folin, Lake Placid Kiwanis Club co-presidents
