To the editor,
What part of “no more money from New York state” doesn’t the Olympic Regional Development Authority get?
ORDA just shot themselves in the foot again (how many feet do they have?) by rejecting Olympian Patrick Kelly’s proposal to take over operations & management of the Oval. Mr. Kelly’s proposal would not only provide a new revenue stream for ORDA; it would add a fully operational venue, creating a spark of excitement at the entrance to town.
I think it’s time for some new blood at ORDA, the Board included. No one there can figure out what operating “for a profit” means.
When they run out of state monies, all the ORDA venues could be shut down.
What does that mean to you, your family, your job, your community? Come on Tri-Lakes, wake up and demand change. Demand a management and board who can manage.
There are lots of other viable, profitable concepts for ORDA venues, including full utilization of the Olympic Center floating in the community. Bring‘em on.
