To the editor:
I would like to publicly thank Richard Rosentreter, the editor of the Lake Placid News, for allowing me to continue writing a column in his “prize-winning” newspaper. It has been a real pleasure for me to associate with “Rich” and to have him as a critic, a mentor and a friend. He has given me good advice, which I usually take seriously, especially about my overuse of commas and punctuating correctly the ends of sentences when they have quotations. I will need to use all of Rich’s training to help me get my book completed and published.
I think that Rich and his staff and the parent Newspaper, the Adirondack Enterprise, should be proud of the direction that Richard Rosentreter has taken The Lake Placid News since he became the editor. The newest staff writer Eric Voorhis also deserves mention, as he has proved, early on, to be a great writer of features and a “Johnny on the Spot.” Rich chose his staff writer well.
Rich, I will miss my weekly visits to your office, but I think that you can expect me to drop in once in a while just to chat. How have I done with the commas?
